FWF Highlights 2026–2027
Family Welfare Foundation will continue expanding
its impact during the 2026–2027 period through strategic programs that strengthen
women and girls’ human rights, improve access to primary healthcare services,
promote economic empowerment and support climate-resilient livelihoods. Building
on its previous achievements and partnerships, FWF will scale up community-driven
initiatives that address structural barriers affecting women, adolescent girls and
vulnerable populations in Tanzania.
The following highlights outline the organization’s strategic priorities and expected outcomes for the 2026–2027 period.
Expanding Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services
FWF will strengthen community awareness and access
to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services, particularly for
adolescent girls and young women in underserved communities. The organization will
expand youth-friendly health education programs, strengthen referral systems between
communities and health facilities and support prevention and treatment initiatives addressing
HIV, tuberculosis and maternal health.
These interventions will focus on improving knowledge, reducing
stigma, and increasing access to essential healthcare services for women and young people.
Strengthening Protection for Women and Girls
FWF will continue to advance women’s human rights by
strengthening prevention and response mechanisms for gender-based violence.
The organization will expand community dialogue initiatives, support survivor-centered
referral systems, and strengthen collaboration with social welfare officers and protection actors.
Special attention will be given to protecting adolescent
girls and young women from violence, exploitation and harmful practices in both physical
and digital environments.
Promoting Girls’ Education and Leadership
FWF will scale up programs that support adolescent girls’ education
retention and re-entry, particularly for girls affected by early pregnancy, poverty, and social
exclusion. Through partnerships with education stakeholders and community leaders, the organization
will promote supportive learning environments and strengthen advocacy for inclusive education policies.
Youth leadership initiatives will also continue to
empower young women with skills in advocacy, entrepreneurship and civic engagement.
Advancing Women Economic Empowerment
During 2026–2027, FWF will expand livelihood and entrepreneurship
programs that support women and youth in building sustainable income-generating activities.
These initiatives will provide training in financial literacy, small business management, and
cooperative development to strengthen economic resilience among women in rural and peri-urban communities.
Women-led enterprises and youth innovation initiatives will be supported
to improve household income and economic participation.
Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Agriculture
Recognizing the growing impact of climate change on rural
livelihoods, FWF will integrate climate resilience into community development initiatives.
The organization will promote climate-smart agriculture practices, sustainable land use, and
community awareness on environmental conservation.
Programs will particularly support women farmers and rural
households to adapt to changing climatic conditions, strengthen food security, and improve agricultural productivity.
Strengthening Community Systems and Partnerships
FWF will continue strengthening collaboration with local government
authorities, health institutions, community networks, and development partners to deliver integrated
programs that address health, protection, and socio-economic challenges.
Through these partnerships, the organization will contribute to strengthening service delivery systems,
promoting accountability, and ensuring that development interventions respond effectively to community needs.
Institutional Growth and Sustainability
To support the expansion of its programs, FWF will strengthen its institutional
capacity through improved monitoring and evaluation systems, resource mobilization strategies, and enhanced
partnerships with national and international stakeholders.
The organization will continue investing in strong governance,
safeguarding systems, and financial accountability to ensure effective program delivery and
sustainable impact.
